Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is a 4F-grade civil international airport and one of China's three major gateway integrated hub airports.
To ensure uninterrupted power supply to the terminal, Baiyun Airport needed to implement an "UPS + generator dual insurance" emergency power supply measure on the existing busway system. When seeking a solution from the original joint venture busway brand, they were informed that the brand could only provide busway products and could not offer corresponding solutions and services.

Under the circumstances, Baiyun Airport had to approach a local design institute to develop a "busway layout plan" for the project. Once the plan was ready, they urgently needed a professional and reliable partner to ensure the project's successful implementation. After extensive contacts and on-site factory inspections, Baiyun Airport ultimately chose CG BUSWAY for their secure busway solution.
Upon receiving the project request, CG BUSWAY first customized a detailed implementation guideline and deployment plan for the "busway layout plan" based on the project site conditions through the PHS mode. After optimizing the details and plans through mutual communication, they proceeded with the implementation of the project guidelines and plans.
The CG BUSWAY team delves into discussions with on-site personnel to implement solutions thoroughly.
The on-site safety supervision unit requires CG BUSWAY to cooperate in implementing the "Three Musts, Four Requirements" to ensure construction site safety, otherwise access will be denied.
Three Musts: It is mandatory to wear masks throughout the entire process, all items entering the site must pass safety checks, and all on-site personnel must pass the safety exam and approval organized by the airport authority.
Four Requirements: Construction work must be carried out under non-power-off conditions, a safety supervisor must be present before commencing any construction activities, the on-site construction schedule must comply with the airport's regulations, and close communication and collaboration among various construction units are required to ensure effective coordination between different projects.
The bus ducts must be individually inspected by the security screening equipment.
During the project advancement, the CG BUSWAY team encountered some difficulties, all of which were overcome and resolved through the PHS model.
Difficulty 1: Baiyun Airport required customized non-standard current-rated busway products, posing a challenge in connecting old and new busway systems.
Solution: CG BUSWAY developed a specialized busway connection plan and production improvement plan for the airport, customizing busway products that could be directly connected and used.
Difficulty 2: The project site had a complex environment and pipeline layout, with insufficient space reserved for installing new busway systems.
Solution: CG BUSWAY, understanding the site conditions and communicating with the airport project leader, provided a targeted on-site construction solution through its technical team, enabling the busway systems to be installed securely and operate safely.
Difficulty 3: The project involved multiple units in construction, demanding a high level of coordination among them.
Solution: CG BUSWAY established a project coordination team based on the site and the conditions of each unit. The team consisted of construction managers from various units, developing detailed implementation rules and coordination plans to ensure orderly cooperation and progress among all units.

Challenge 4: Due to the special circumstances of Baiyun Airport itself, the project needs to proceed and be completed without interruption of power supply.
Solution: In response to this situation, CG BUSWAY has developed corresponding construction work progress plans and construction safety management regulations for the airport, meeting the owner's requirements while providing standardized operational guidelines for on-site construction management. This ensures the safe and orderly implementation and execution of the corresponding plans.
Challenge 5: All items (down to screws) need to pass through security checks.
Solution: CG BUSWAY has prepared an on-site entry plan in advance based on this situation. Entry personnel are organized into transport teams, security check teams, and logistics support teams. The logistics support team arranges for the orderly sorting, packaging, and on-site coordination of entry materials in advance. The transport team carries shipping equipment to ensure unloading at the security check point, while the security check team ensures orderly inspection of materials. Through mutual cooperation, materials are efficiently and orderly brought on-site.
The project requires construction work to be carried out without power interruption.
Challenge 6: All personnel entering the site must report in advance and pass an exam.
Solution: CG BUSWAY internally arranges two teams in advance. Team A is the on-site construction team, and Team B is the backup team. Team A consists of on-site execution personnel who collectively report for approval, undergo on-site safety exams, and relay crucial processes and assessment details to Team B for early preparation.
Challenge 7: Limited construction time for the project.
Solution: Due to the short available construction time on-site, with only 6 hours during the day, CG BUSWAY team plans ahead through preliminary scheme preparation, schedules time effectively, devises two sets of construction time plans in advance, operates continuously day and night, ensuring the project's timely completion. Meanwhile, Team B remains on standby to address any unforeseen circumstances.
The CG BUSWAY team collaborates and cooperates with on-site personnel to overcome challenges together.
Throughout the project, CG BUSWAY not only helped the owner solve the difficulty of implementation through the PHS mode but also saved project costs for the owner through a "trade-in" approach, offsetting part of the cost of purchasing new bus ducts by recycling old ones.
The Baiyun Airport project, with the joint efforts of CG BUSWAY, the owner, and the on-site supervision team, concluded successfully on November 6. CG BUSWAY planned ahead, addressed various challenges, ensured seamless progress, maintained orderly on-site construction, and ultimately received recognition and praise from the airport authorities.
